FAQs

School lunch has been free for all students for the 2022-2023 school year and the menu can be found on the LAUSD website. Supper is provided for students who stay after school in either the STAR or Beyond the Bell programs.

Yes! STAR offers after school options for grades TK - 5 and Beyond the Bell is available for grades 2 - 5.

PEP stands for Palisades Enrichment Programs, a nonprofit 501c3 organization, that is the overarching parent group at Pali responsible for fundraising and community building events.

Raise money and have fun doing it! POP stands for Party on Pali and is a subset of PEP. POP works with parents to host child and parent parties throughout the school year. Hosts pay to host the party and ticket proceeds are donated to the school.

  • Busy and full of traffic! The earlier you arrive, the easier traffic will be.
  • Drop off: Pali gates open at 7:30am and school starts at 7:55am. Teachers meet their class on the blacktop and walk them inside at the start of the day.
  • Pick-up: Students who will be picked up at the end of the school day are walked outside with their teacher, who releases them to a parent or guardian. Students who are staying for an after school activity are escorted to that activity directly from class.
  • Kinder / TK children are dropped off and picked up at their classroom. Please walk in the gates with them in the morning.
  • Pali uses LAUSD APP for official messages that come via email, phone, and text.
  • Parents use FreshSchools as a family directory and parent communication tool. New families will receive an invitation to join FreshSchools a week or two before school begins.
  • Updates about school events come via email on Fridays from Principal Herman and on Sundays from PEP.
Pali Ambassadors organize buddy groups during the summer before school begins. Each group includes 1-2 current families and several incoming families in the same or similar grade. Current families host at least one official buddy group playdate, and more playdates often follow within the group. It is a great opportunity to meet other Pali families and feel well prepared for the first few days and weeks of school!
    • There is usually a full school assembly to start the first day of school - more details to come. Parents are invited!
    • Kindergarten and TK children have the option of enjoying a modified schedule during the first week, with incrementally later pick-up times, to help our youngest students acclimate to their new school.
Bell Schedule
Class assignments are posted on FreshSchools the weekend before school begins and will also be available at the New Family playdate on August 13 - the day before school begins.

Principal Herman attends several of the new family welcome events and she would love to meet you there! She also hosts Coffee with the Principal on campus once a month during the school year. It is a great opportunity to meet her and discuss topics that may come up through the year.
Yes! Once you enroll, you'll hear from the Pali Ambassador Team about informational and welcome events. Events usually begin in late May.
