- Budget Committee: (Herman -2 parent attendees) Overview of 25-26 Budget. No significant change. Waiting to see if the district will be providing any additional resources. PSW provided for the rest of this school year at no coast. PSA next year, no cost to the school b/c we are in ATSI status with our attendance.
- Curriculum Committee: (Lee -1 parent attendee) Plan PD’s for staff: MOY Data, SEL, IAB hand scoring, AI, and Grade level articulation, Reorganization
- Parent Outreach Committee: (Arias - 0 parent attendees) Reached out to Concepcion Ramirez (PSW) as a presenter. Reached out to Nancy Harding.
- Personnel Selection Committee: (Yamamoto) – Currently fully staffed
- Safety Committee: (Davison) Emergency Buckets: Ensure all classrooms have stocked emergency buckets per LAUSD guidelines. Emergency Rosters: Follow up with Sam to update rosters and ensure all classroom clipboards are current. Order Clipboards: Determine need and submit order if necessary. Room Numbers on Doors: Put clear, large room numbers on every classroom door. Emergency Pickup Map: communicate changes to staff and parents.
- Technology Committee: (Lam – 0 parent attendees) All classrooms have a Smart Board, teacher laptops, and the appropriate technology for students (iPads for lower elementary and Chromebooks for upper elementary). LAUSD ITS is currently checking on status of replacing ECF devices for students whose Chromebooks were lost in the fire (anyone who got a Chromebook to take home, the district is working on replacing those).
- Administration Report:
- Instructional Update: 90-95% to get teachers all the supplies/resources they need. State testing: we're preparing for third, fourth, and fifth graders to take the state testing. Teachers will be doing daily practice, performance tasks in both English and math, and computer adaptive test practice. The window for state testing is May 5th - 16th. 3rd to 5th will be taking ELA and mathematics assessments and fifth grade will be also doing the science test. Social emotional resources: We understand that in order to access the curriculum students need to feel saved and secure. We will continue using SEL resources to support our students.
- Operational Update: We are on the right track to settling in BSM. Seems like we'll be here for the foreseeable future. Safety items: In constant communication with principal Bruntson, how we can happily coexist and make sure that the campus is a safe, secure happy place for all kids. Continuing to look at safety items getting emergency buckets to teachers getting emergency supplies on campus are super high priority. Library: In the process of making sure that we have an additional set of library books and items for the students. Miss Ruby and Brentwood’s librarian are collaborating on the schedule to start next week. Access to additional space for next year: Aware that we lost a lot of extra rooms to do the kind of things we used to do. Like an auditorium for music and drama, computer lab, library, etc, so we're working on continuing to look how we can best and happily coexist on this campus.
- Budget Update: 25-26 Budget submitted on 2/12/25. We are in good shape to pay for everything that includes PEP paying for one of our class size reduction teacher. Carvallo did mention that we will be held harmless to whatever our enrollment is, so every teacher who is currently employed will be employed next year.
- LCAP Update: Final LCAP draft is due on April 11th. Our draft has been submitted. Waiting for the district to look at it and make sure that they have their approval on all aspects of it and will be presented in the governing council in May.
- Palisades Recovery: Town Hall: met on Tuesday March 18th. The district seems to have a pretty solid plan moving forward. The goal is ongoing collaboration between educational partners like parents, school staff, administrators, district staff, as well as our board members. District will hold a second town hall the first week of April. It will be a follow up to the meeting we had on March 18th.
- PEP Report:
- Budget: (Hilary) PEP is on track. Party book is up and running. Trying not to put too much of a financial burden on our families, but also still trying to have some of the more traditional events. Have received donations that offset any lack of fundraising that we were not able to complete this year.
